The People Have Spoken

Our Lofted Handyman Barns (or Lofted Handywoman Barns) have been a customer favorite and one of the most versatile and feature packed buildings we offer. Not only do you get the double doors on the end wall, but they also come with a single side door as well as three 2×3 windows and a workbench with an overhead storage loft.

Some people, however, (myself included) just prefer the “shed look” with a regular gable roof instead of the “barn look” you get from a gambrel roof.  So we decided to take all the most popular features of our Lofted Handyman Barns and put them into a shed instead.  We are excited to now offer our new Handyman Sheds.

Functionality At Its Finest

If you’ve read any of my previous posts, then you are probably well aware that I preach the importance of organization and access.  Well the Handyman Shed is designed to give you both.  You get a large open area in the front of the shed with double doors giving you a spacious place to park your lawn tractor, ATV, bass boat, or other bulky equipment.

In addition, you also get an organized area in the rear of the shed with a workbench and overhead storage loft that has its own side access door, allowing for quick and easy access to your tools, gear, and other storage items that you may need more often.  Like I’ve mentioned before, nobody wants to have to move their lawn tractor out on a cold winter day just to grab some holiday decorations or other items you have stored in the back of the building, so that side access door can be a valuable time saver when you just want to grab something real quick.

You also get three 2×3 windows give you an abundance of natural light and ventilation inside the building.  So no matter what project you are working on, from changing the oil and sharpening the blades on your lawn tractor to painting cabinets you plan on installing later in your kitchen, you will have plenty of daylight to work with and the ability to clear out any obnoxious vapors or fumes quickly with some fresh air.

The taller 7’9″ side walls means that our customers who are on the taller side themselves won’t have to duck and crouch trying to work underneath a loft that is more favorable to shorter people.  For example, our Lofted Barns, Side-Lofted Barns, Lofted Handyman Barns, and Lofted Garages all have a 6’3″ side wall height, so anyone taller than that may regret purchasing one of those building styles later on after bumping their head multiple times.  When it comes to the prefab barn and shed industry, it may be one of the few examples in life where being a bit “vertically challenged” or on the shorter side could actually be a blessing!

Personalize Your Building For YOU

I can not emphasize this enough, but all of our prefab buildings can be customized to fit your specific needs. For example, maybe it makes more sense for you to have the double doors on the longer side wall and the single door on the end wall. No problem, we can do that. Maybe you don’t need the workbench and would prefer tiered shelving across the rear all. Sounds good, we can do that. Maybe instead of having the three 2×3 windows that are included with your Lofted Handyman Barn, you would prefer to just have fixed transom windows in each of the doors to let light in but keep “2-legged critters” out. Makes sense, we can do that.

My point is this, we are happy to talk about what your actual needs with the building are, what design and layout makes the most sense for you, what options will make this building YOURS, and our builders are happy to bring these ideas to life.  Our goal is to help you have a personalized building that has been designed and built specifically for you, providing decades of use and satisfaction.
